Well I feel, the government is justified in blocking certain sites which might incite religious violence in India. After all this is being done to ensure that no more people die because of riots, which become a dark possibility after any massive terror attack. But banning other ones like http://ExposingTheLeft.BlogSpot.Com seems as if the government is taking too may orders from the comrades. Dr. Manmohan Singh, I trust that you are a good PM and will ensure democracy prevails in this country.

What the hell is the matter Bangalore??

Traffic...Bangalore....Nowadays they have started sounding more or less the same..I know, bad joke. But fact. I remember when I landed in Bangalore about 2 years back, it looked much like what you would call a "quaint little town going at its own pace". But not anymore, no Sir! Things have really changed. I used to take 20 minutes to my office which was about 10 Kms, and now it takes 45 minutes. Fortunately or unfortunately, my office has been shifted to the outskirts of the city i.e. ELECTRONIC CITY (EC). Well anybody who has lived in Bangalore knows the road to EC. Its called the road to hell. I'm sorry, its Hosur Road. Now it takes 1 hr to reach office and 1 hour back. And not to mention, its worsening day by day.
Bangalore would soon loose all it charm if something does not change soon. For the better, that is.

Back to the era of meaningful cinema

Since the past few months bollywood has started coming out with some really meaningful cinema. First Yuva, then Swades and now Page - 3. I saw all the three movies and would recommend the same for all the readers. For those who are addicted to the fancy wedding sequences (churned out by the dozen by the likes of Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra..) should really see these movies to discover what cinema is all about.

Of one ways & parking woes

Well Since the past week or so, I have been seeing a lot of this add about a retail giant called LIFESTYLE, re-defining themselves and becoming 'Hi On Life'. So finally yesterday, my lady, pushed me into giving these guys a visit. So of we went on my modest Hero Honda. As we got to the monument, we realized that there is no entry into that great monument. There was a constable waiting infront of the main gate who gestured us to take a circular route to get back to the same place, albiet, behind his back. So off we went. After wasting about 1/4 Ltr of petrol and scanning 1 Km more of Bangalore roads we finally got to this place. For a change we even got parking very quickly. But inside, NOTHING NEW. All a publicity stunt, I realized. Finally after wasting 25 minutes in that place we came out.
Guess what happened just then-- She saw a truck with a caption on its back-- "BANGALORE HABBA - Food Festival at Palace Grounds." Now for the uninformed, Palace grounds is about 12 Kms from where we stood. But still to prove that I am a nice guy, I took the plunge. After 40 minutes of dodging Bangalore traffic and its misleading one ways, I finally got to 'The Palace'. After paying a 5 rupee parking fee and walking 1/2 km, I was very politely informed that the food festival opens at 4 PM. I was early. My fault-- I had thought that lunch would be a good time to go to a food festival. But alas, The organizers thought otherwise. Then hungry and irritated I drove to a mall in Central Bangalore, aptly named Bangalore Central. I stepped inside and guess what- was asked for Rs.20 as parking fee.

What is this city coming to? So finally after wasting 2 lts of petrol, driving 30 Kms and giving out Rs. 30 as parking fees, I feel staying at home would have been better.

Do I need to learn Kannada?

I live in Bangalore. I have never, in the past one & half years of living in Bangalore, needed to use more than 2 word of Kannada (apart from Kannada Gotilla- I don't speak Kannada). But now I feel, I may well have to change all that. Why? Because I am an avid movie freak! So, you would say, what has that got to do with learning Kannada? Well, some smart people in Bangalore are running a crazy campaign whose aim is to make everybody learn and speak Kannada? That sound a like noble cause some would say. Well not quite. At the cost of banning ENGLISH/HINDI movies? (Though after watching some Hindi movies I feel that banning is pretty good idea) These smart people say that movies are a direct way to get in touch with the masses, to get to the roots, to make people realize the importance of kannada --- so ban non-kannada movies. Well I want these SMART guys to take an IQ test and then learn the law. According to the law, this demand is against our fundamental rights. But in our country I guess, laws are meant to be broken. And the way the government is conspriring with these smart people, I see no option but to go and buy a Kannada book.

What do I wish for?

LET SENSE PREVAIL and let the PVR(at FORUM) open up.
